Water Safety Day (Sponsored by Golden K Kiwanis)

WHAT IS THE Y’s SAFETY AROUND WATER PROGRAM?

Sponsored by the Golden K Kiwanis club, Safety Around Water consists of one FREE 25 minute session designed to teach kids and their family water safety skills that help reduce the risk of drowning and build their skills and confidence in and around water.

A TYPICAL SESSION INCLUDES:

• Exercises to help kids adjust to being in the water

• Instruction on skills that kids can use if they unexpectedly find themselves in the water and lifejacket etiquette

• Safety topics like what to do if you see someone in the water who needs help

• Fun activities that reinforce skills

• Adult water safety presentation & topic discussion

EVENT DETAILS

November 23

12-2PM (Arrive between 11:30AM-1:30PM to participate)

25 minute sessions starting at 12PM

For ages 4-14 and their families

FREE (includes goodie bag and door prize entries)

• Bring the following to class for children age 4-14: Swimsuit, and Towel. Goggles are optional

• Sign in at the registration table to get assigned a time-slot, enjoy the facility while you wait.

•To ensure students have at-home support that reinforces their learning, ages 15+ will participate in an orientation to teach them how to practice these skills at home.
