COVID-19 UPDATE OCT. 30TH

Orange Risk Level Adjustments & Updates

Thank you for sticking with us during these uncertain times. Your support does, and will continue to, make a difference to those in our community whom we serve. Without our loyal members, we would not be able to continue serving the Minot community and surrounding areas just as we have for the past 76 years.

Ward County has moved into Orange Risk Level and as a result we have a few adjustments to share. The ND Smart Restart guidelines require us to release training protocol for over 150 full and part-time staff regarding policies we have received, area capacities & closures, cleaning & disinfecting procedures, and more. This means that our facility will be open, but not running at full capacity due to the restrictions in place for us.

Nevertheless, we are open and we hope to see you continue your wellness journey at a time when it is needed more than ever. Please read the following carefully as some of our policies have changed.

Following the guidelines set in place by the state of North Dakota and the CDC, we will continue a rigorous cleaning schedule every day and are adding additional staff and sanitation stations as needed. We have also installed new destratification fans that will help keep our Y environment clean and healthy, and we will continue to look into new and innovative ways to keep our facility sanitary.

The Y will have the following age restrictions:

Monday-Friday our hours are 5AM-11PM

5AM-3PM: Ages 17+ only (from 2-3PM we will be deep cleaning sub-areas of the facility in 15-minute increments)

3-11PM: All Ages (Age policies in Training Center still apply)

Saturday & Sunday our hours are 6AM-9PM

6AM-3PM: Ages 17+ only (from 2-3PM we will be deep cleaning sub-areas of the facility in 15-minute increments)

3-9PM: All Ages (Age policies in Training Center still apply)

These adjustments will begin on Friday, October 30th, 2020 at 5:00PM with the following limitations:

  • Only members will be allowed in the facility. No guest passes will be issued.

  • We are asking our staff to wear masks while in the workplace, and masks are strongly recommended for all members while within our facility, however not required while exercising.

  • Members must perform a self-verification of health in accordance to symptoms before entering the facility.

  • Each area of the Y will have a limited capacity as enforced by the Y staff.

  • We encourage members to download the Care19 Alert & Diary Apps to assist with disease tracking efforts.

  • There will be no water fountains available for use. Please bring water from home.

  • There will be no sweat towel service available. We encourage you to bring your own.

  • The Training Center will have some equipment blocked off to ensure social distancing on cardio and weight machines.

  • Basketball gyms have a capacity of 25 people or 4-5 people per hoop. No pickup games will be allowed at this time, including noon basketball games.

  • Racquetball courts have a capacity of 2 people per court.

  • The Community Room and coffee services will be closed until further notice as recommended by state and public health officials.

  • The locker rooms and amenities will remain open with limited capacity as posted.

  • The pool will remain open with limited capacity.

  • The In-Y Daycare and Kid’s Gym will be closed until further notice as recommended by the state and public health officials.

  • The Climbing Wall is open with adjusted hours: Sunday: Closed, Monday-Thursday: 4PM-10PM, Friday: 9AM-11AM (18+ only) & 4PM-10PM, & Saturday: 9AM-7PM

  • Group Fitness Classes will continue with limited capacity. Virtual classes will also be available in the fitness room or online at any of our online virtual options.

  • The cycling room will be closed to the public- please consider using one of the stationary bikes in the upstairs training areas.

  • All programming and activities will continue as scheduled unless otherwise notified.

  • North Plains CrossFit through Trinity Health will remain open with limited capacity.

  • Outdoor areas such as our fitness park, playground, and picnic shelter are closed for the season.

As always, we want to thank you for your patience and support as we navigate through these pioneering times. We are extremely grateful for each one of you! Please continue to stay up to date by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, downloading our Daxko App, visiting our website, or opting in to text messages.
