Thank you for your commitment to the Minot Family YMCA. We are inspired every day by the way you continue to prioritize your health, and we are thankful for your part in keeping the Y’s mission alive. No matter how often you visit our facility or what your involvement is – you are the lifeblood of our organization. Your hard-earned dollars, your neighborly engagements, your dedication to inspire, and your commitment to your community are what allow us to continue our efforts to improve overall wellness, ignite youth empowerment, and demonstrate the importance of connections. The Y isn’t just a building or a gym. It’s a community movement to strengthen and support our neighbors – and we’re deeply grateful for your part in it.

We will be modestly adjusting our membership dues as well as restructuring the Youth, Student, and Young Adult Memberships. These changes are depicted on the right and are available to review by clicking the button below.
Members who fall within the new Youth, Student, and Young Adult memberships will be contacted if any additional action must be taken. Members participating in a Membership Round Up program will continue to see their designated round up amount reflected in these prices.
We want to continue serving you in the best way we know how by operating our programs, spaces, and services in a way that is inspiring and engaging. Additionally, we continue to raise the wages of our frontline team so we are able to fully operate our services.
If you have any questions about the updates discussed in this letter or if you would like to make any optional membership changes including those listed on the first page, please contact our Service Desk at 701.852.0141, email our Membership Director, Jared, at japodaca@ymcaminot.org, or stop by our front desk. Additionally, if you would like to learn more about the Y’s offerings, services, and community impact, please visit us online at ymcaminot.org.
Thank you, again, for being a part of our community. Together, we have the capability of positively impacting more lives by continuing to model healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. Your commitment to our cause means the world to us.
WAYS TO SAVE
Student Membership
Young Adults who are age 18 and older and are actively enrolled full-time in either High School or college qualify for our Student Membership, which offers a discounted membership rate! To qualify, students must provide proof of enrollment to the Service Desk in-house. Plus, students also receive a waived enrollment fee when signing up for the Student membership!
Member Referral Savings
Members are eligible for a 20% savings on the standard membership rate for referring a friend. The referred friend is also eligible for a 20% savings plus a waived enrollment fee. This is offered year-round and, if you both remain members, the savings continue until the end of the calendar year of referral. This gives you and your friend the opportunity to refer two more friends to continue the discount in the following year and spread the wealth!
Financial Assistance Opportunites
The Membership For All program aims to provide financial assistance for families and individuals to access our facility, programs, and services. If you’re finding yourself unable to continue your involvement in the Y due to financial reasons, we encourage you to apply! You can ask the Service Desk for more information! Are you currently receiving Membership For All assistance? Good news! Your current rate will remain in effect until your next renewal period!
Health Club Rewards & Reimbursements
The Y partners with many insurance providers who offer rewards or reimbursements to those with participating health plans. To find out if your plan qualifies, simply call the number on the back of your insurance card and check with your insurance company to verify eligibility in the reimbursement program. If you qualify, stop by the service desk to see if we partner with that plan!
WHAT THE Y DOES FOR THE COMMUNITY
Service to the Community
Each year we are able to provide sponsorships, donations, facility access, program access, and more to individuals and groups alike. In 2023, our Y provided $280,023 back to the Minot community through all these programs, scholarships, and offerings.
Income-based Memberships
In 2023, we provided financial assistance for 373 members in 112 households so that they are able to access the YMCA and our services. These sponsorship dollars totaled $38,412. These members may not have been able to join the Y due to hardships or financial strain without the Membership for All program.
Community Fundraising Support
Throughout 2023 our YMCA gave $28,757 worth of in-kind donations to individuals and organizations within the Minot community and surrounding areas to help aid their fundraising efforts for various things. These include events such as health benefits, event door prizes, employee/customer appreciation and more. Plus, $7,854 of that donation amount went to schools within Minot and the surrounding area.
Group Memberships
The Y provides a safe place for individuals in group homes or service organizations to come, workout, and enjoy themselves at little to no cost to either the organization or individual! In 2023 we provided the clients of 73 organizations access to our facility to help strengthen their minds and bodies on their health journey.
Employment Opportunities
We provide jobs to a number of people within the Minot area. Our amazing employees keep our doors open so our services are available for both members and guests. In 2023 we employed a total 331 part-time individuals and 28 full-time individuals with an average of 100 employees on payroll at a time.
Program Sponsorships
During the 2023 camp & sports seasons we were able to provide over 40 children with a full or partial sponsorship to attend or participate in overnight camp at Triangle Y Camp, basketball league, football league, Day Camps, Kinder Camp, Swim Lessons, and more.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Y is able to provide opportunities for people of all ages and skills who are looking to give back to the community. In 2023, we had 388 volunteers pass through our doors with opportunities for even more!
Giving Back Through Partnerships
Each year our Y looks for needs in our community that are in our capacity to fill. Through many partnerships we are able to provide opportunities to everyone in our community. Programs and events offered at little to no cost such as Summer Unplugged, Halloween Fun Night, Safety Around Water, and more are all a result from partners and sponsors who provide funds or program assistance.
